Tincture

« Back to Glossary Index

A tincture is a liquid extract made by soaking plant material, such as hemp, in an alcohol-based solvent. This process extracts the active compounds from the plant material (such as CBD or THC), resulting in a concentrated liquid that can be used for various purposes, including oral ingestion or cosmetic applications.

Tinctures are usually taken orally by placing a few drops under the tongue for a minute and then swallowing.  You can also mix them with food or other alcohol-free beverages for easy intake.

Tinctures offer several advantages, including long shelf life, ease of administration, and quick effects when taken sublingually (under the tongue). They are available in many formulations, potencies, and flavors to suit individual preferences and needs.
