Nug

« Back to Glossary Index

A “nug” (short for “nugget”) refers to a dense, compact bud of cannabis or CBD hemp flowers. Nugs are the most desirable part of the plant, containing the highest concentration of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds responsible for the plant’s effects and aroma.

Nugs come in various sizes, shapes, and colors, depending on the strain and how it was cultivated. High-quality nugs are typically characterized by their vibrant colors, such as shades of green, purple, or orange, as well as the presence of crystalline trichomes, which give the buds a frosty or sticky appearance.

A nug is commonly broken apart and consumed by grinding them into smaller pieces and then smoking, vaping, or using them to make edibles, extracts, or other products.
